GenCon 2021
As the world began to open up again in the wake of the devastation of Covid-19, GenCon made it a point to place a priority on the safety of attendees and exhibitors. By reducing the number of attendees by 50% and requiring masks (among other virus mitigation strategies), 2021’s GenCon was a successful event by all accounts.
Gen Con is an interesting show in that many people who attend are very heavy into gaming… yet the people they bring with them might not be. This is who Goliath sought to attract: the people who may not be the target demographic for GenCon’s traditional offerings and are looking for something that speaks to their interests. This strategy paid off, as Goliath sold out of nearly all their games with a full day of the show left.
